Thymus Peptide C® 25mg
Immunoregulating Preparation
Composition: Thymus Peptide C® is extracted from the thymus glands of young calves.
Characteristics: The drug works as a substitute for the physiological functions of the thymus. With T-cell deficiency, Thymus Peptide C® recruits immature system cells in the bone marrow and stimulates their maturation to the fully active T-cell phase in the lymphatic system. Thymus Peptide C® increases granulopoiesis and erythropoiesis by acting on the bone marrow. The preparation can be used for all diseases with primary and secondary immune system disturbances involving T-cells which are thymus dependent and for a wide range of symptoms such as chronic viral, bacterial and fungal infections; allergic and auto-immune reactions; and certain lymphoproliferative syndromes.
Indications: All systemic diseases of the connective tissue, the nervous tissue, the muscles, the vessels and the internal organs caused by a deficient immune function of the thymus:
- chronic virus hepatitis
- polyneuropathy, encephalopathy
- auto-immune spinal cord diseases
- acute dermatomyositis, allergic skin diseases
- systemic lupus erythematosus
- hypo and hypergammaglobulinaemias
- cutaneous and organ-involved mycoses
- carcinomas, special adeno carcinomas
- immune deficiency
Contraindications: There are no absolute contraindications known. Relative contraindications include pregnancy, during menstruation and certain endocrinological syndromes.
Side Effects: No side effects are known. At the puncture point, erythema or a slight sensitivity could develop. In such cases a one or two day break from the treatment is indicated.
Interactions: Thymus Peptide C® is a hormonal drug and may show synergism with certain pituitary hormones, somatotropin hormone, and estrogens. It may antagonize the adrenocortical hormones' effect on the lymphatic system.
Administration: The preparation is to be administered subcutaneously with no. 16 or 18 injection needles.
Dosage: The dosage needs to be determined on an individual basis depending on the health of the patient. The following dosage is recommended: 25 mg/day for 30 days followed by 25-30 mg/week. Continued administration, the dosage, the duration of the treatment depend on the therapeutic effect and the immunological results.
Storage: Keep in a cool place.
