THYMEX-L® 

Constitution: 150 mg lyophilised, sterile, total thymus extract - THX by Dr. Pesic- isolated from fresh juvenile calf thymus and standardized to 0.6 mg / mg thymus cytoplasmatic protein. Besides immune effective peptides and proteins, total thymus extract is comprised of adenosindesaminase, purinenucleosidephosphorylase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione reductase, glutathione-S-transferase, gluthathione peroxidase and peptidase activities.

Range of Application: Illnesses due to reduced immunity, especially lack of cellular immunity, rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, microcellular bronchial cancer and geriatrics. For treatment of enzymopathies related to adenosindesaminase, purinenucleosidephosphorylases and certain peptidases.

THYMEX-L® therapy has yielded good results in adjuvant cancer treatment of breast, lungs, uterus, prostate, Hodgkin's disease and Kapose's sarcoma.

The prophylactic role of THYMEX-L® against anormal development of the cellular tissue is significant.

Contraindications: Internal hemorrhage, long-term therapy with cortisone as well as cortisone derivatives, and other hormones of the suprarenal gland. After completion of cortisone treatment, THYMEX-L® therapy should only be started after a six-week-waiting period. THYMEX-L® should not be given during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

Side Effects: After the first injection, it is possible that slight local itching, redness or swelling could develop. This should be treated with ointments containing antihistaminic substances or heparin.

In some cases there may be a temperature or/and fever. It is recommended to use antihistaminic per os or discontinues treatment for a day or two.

Strong allergic reactions or protein shock have not been observed.

Interaction: During THYMEX-L® therapy medications containing salicylic acid should not be used.

Dosage: Unless otherwise prescribed, injections are to be administered every other day for a total of 10-20 injections depending on the health of the patient and the stage of the illness.

The treatment can be repeated after an interval of 3 to 12 months. If necessary, long-term treatment with THYMEX-L® can be administered. Then, one injection twice a week is recommended.

Application: Dissolve THYMEX-L® in 2 ml aqua pro injectione, shake well and inject immediately, i.m. or s.c. into the gluteal region.

Warning: Store in a dry place no warmer than +25°C. Do not use after expiration date. Do not use opened injection vials or previously dissolved solution.

Package Size: 1 original package of THYMEX-L® contains 10 injections vials of 150 mg lyophilised total thymus extract and 10 ampoules of 2 ml aqua pro injectione as solvent.
