SPLENIN® 

Description: Each vial of SPLENIN® contains:
50 mg of polypeptides from porcine spleen as a freeze-dried powder as the active ingredient. Inert ingredients - none.

Properties: SPLENIN® is an immuno-modulator, an immuno-corrector, and an immuno-regenerator

Prescription: Required

Indications: SPLENIN® is indicated for:

  • all immune deficiency symptoms
  • chronic and degenerative diseases
  • wounds that do not heal
  • vascular diseases
  • erection dysfunctions in males
  • menopausal symptoms in females
  • malignant growths after operation, radiation therapy and chemotherapy

Contraindications: Splenin® should not be administered when there is a known allergy to porcine spleen. There is no information about use during pregnancy and nursing.

Side Effects: In single cases an allergic exanthema may occur. In rare cases, especially in patients with an allergic disposition, reactions ranging from a hypersensitive reaction to an anaphylactic shock could occur.

Interactions with other medications: No interactions have been observed thus far.

Warnings: None

Incompatibilities: No incompatibilities have been observed.

Dosage and Administration: For one week from Monday - Friday administer 1 vial SPLENIN® daily. Then for two weeks three times a week ad-minister 1 vial SPLENIN®. After that administer 1 vial SPLENIN® twice a week for three weeks.

Type and Length of Application: Further administration of SPLENIN® is determined on an individual case basis by the family practitioner and depends on the type of illness, patient's condition, and tolerance of therapy. Repeated treatment is recommended after 6 weeks or 3 months. In severe cases, long-term therapy where 1 vial SPLENIN® is administered 1-2 times a week may be considered.

Emergency Procedures:

Cutaneous eruptions (flush, urticaria, etc.) Antihistamines: in case of severe urticaria, corticosteroids, volume substitution and heparin ointment
Tachycardia, fall in blood pressure (<90 systolic) Corticosteroids, e.g. 100mg Prednisolon i.v., possibly Suprarenin 1-2 times / hour 0.5-1ml s.c.
Dyspnea, shock 1. Suprarenin 0.25-0.5 ml of the 10-times diluted standard solution of 1:1000 slowly i.v.; possibly repeated at intervals of 2-3 min.
2. Corticosteroids, e.g. Prednisolon 250. 1000 mg i.v.
3. Volume replacement, preferably with a 5% human albumin solution

Storage:
Shelf life: 5 years.
Keep dry and cool.
